this is the first time i actually see eye to eye with the guy, women are attracted to men that they can have a fun time with, men have a fun time with simply being with attractive women regardless of their humor, putting more pressure on the man to make the woman laugh

Wanda Sykes's coming-out only adds to Hitchens's argument. She's one of the funniest comedians out there, and when I thought she was hetero I considered her an aberration. Now, it makes perfect sense.

He has made an observation about the kind of women comedians there are and why he thinks that is; I don't think his opinions are unfounded, though obviously a little offensive.

*sigh* stating some bull that all or most of either gender is doing or not doing something is dumb , since funny , and beauty are relative and both wuld vary from every person , its satire , sa-ti-re , not to be taken seriously .

No he is not missing it. Again, what you are describing is not the norm. Most unattractive women are not funny, since even they don't have to (or for other psychological reasons).

Hahaha, Hitchens, you crack me up. Shielding an explicitly sexist notion behind a wall of academic immunity. Not fair. I wish that I could make racist, sexist, and homophobic comments publicly is a seemingly humble fashion. I wish that I could articulate myself like you.
