Solo Bassist Kimberly Lynn plays 'Coppin a Feel'
BackInspired as I was walking through the living room and heard a cool groove on a television commercial. By the time I got through trying to 'capture the feel' and the tune evolved, it only seemed right to title it 'Coppin a Feel'. ;)
This was taped New Year's Eve 2007 at the Global Bean in Silverdale, WA. As it was a four hour gig I 'kinda' stretched my material out 'somewhat', as I normally play two hour shows, so I threw the barry sax section in. Anyway, by the time the night was over, I still had material I hadn't played. I guess I can book three hour shows now. :)
Playing my first New Year's Eve as a solo bassist was a real gas! Seriously, I think it a pretty cool milestone as I'm not quite a year as a soloist and yet here I am doing a NYE gig. Life is good and getting better. Sweet. :)

The synth is pretty cool, though I don't use it very much, as in *maybe* for about 20% of my material on a slow day/gig when I'll do a lot of noodlin'. ;) Still can be lot of fun though. :)
Best wishes for your solo bassist journey. :) Keep playing, keep practicing, keep getting experience. There's nothing like playing live for experience. :)
Best Regards,
Kimberly :)
Great improv and licks too. You sound real experienced.
Best Regards,
Kimberly :)
This is awesome! Really.^^
Thanks for your comment and I'm glad you like my music! :)
As far as my instrument, would you believe it's a lefty strung righty? S'truth. :) When I first began to play I didn't own my own instrument so I would borrow a friends. :) So, a left handed bass with a tailpiece, nut and saddles set up for right hand stringing. In other words, I play upside down! :D
Best Regards,
Kimberly :)
Sorry for my english, my best wishes from Mexico!!!
Best wishes for a long and successful relationship playing your bass. Practice and learn and it will hold you in good stead for your lifetime.
I'm glad you like my music and as far as how long I've been playing, well, to say a long, long time begins to answer that question. Besides, you should never ask a lady her age and if I was to tell you how long I've been playing, you'd have an idea of how very old I am. ;)
Keep on playing Daniel!
Best Regards,
Kimberly :)
