REMINDER: As usual, a crime of this nature is an excuse for every frustrated racist and sadistic creep to come out of the woodwork demanding the death penalty, the repeal of gun control, stricter immigration laws and the right to lynch and torture. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Canada has abolished the death penalty on July 14, 1976. The last execution in Canada was on December 11, 1962.
Canada banned the death penalty because of fears about wrongful convictions, concerns about the state taking the lives of individuals, and uncertainty about the death penalty's role as a deterrent for crime.

The 1959 case of Steven Truscott, who was just 14 years old when convicted of a murder that he did not commit, was a significant impetus (although certainly not the only one) toward the abolition of capital punishment. (On August 28, 2007, Truscott was acquitted of the charges by the Ontario Court of Appeal.)

No civilized democracy that has abolished it has ever reinstated it. Asking for it is like asking for murder in Canada. So don't.

From CTV (Canada AM). A man - Vince Weiguang Li, 40, of Edmonton - stabs and beheads his fellow passenger, 22 year-old Tim McLean, with a Bowie knife. This is the first video on the subject on YouTube. Canadian news outfits are not only slow, they put an embargo on their videos. It took 12 hours for this to reach YouTube.

How do you know he's not mentally ill?
Maybe he, in his own world thinks he's superior and tim was the devil or something (I heard a psychiatrist say that about the case). People don't just go up and start stabbing, there must be a reason, either tim pissed him off or the guy is mentally ill
