Park Yong Soo vs Kaoklai Kaennorsing TKD vs Muay Thai K1 pt1

Back

Park Yong Soo vs. Kaoklai Kaennorsing in K-1 Khan Korea 2007. Good fight, aside from Park Yong Soo's poor conditioning. Park says before the fight that while Kaoklai's kicks are considered quick amongst K1 fighters, they are slow compared to TKD fighters, so he will be able to evade Kaoklai's kicks.

and by the way i am trained in karate(shito-ryu), some tkd, muay thai, some wing chun, and currently training in jeet kune do..
im telling this as u'd doubt that MT is my STYLE, n im boasting it to be best..but its nt that..im trained both in karate and MT,n have adequate knowledge of both. n have equal respect for both, as well as for practitioners of both styles..
regards

bt i really respect ur knowledge about ancient karate...my point is what do u know abt the birth and development of muay boran or muay thai? may be u know, bt let me tell u,
muay boran was also dev. on battlefield(like karate) and was made to kill opponent in a single blow..in fact its creator knocked out top 10 burmese fighter in a row and all with single blows.
i might be wrong, bt probably u r a karateka too. but u'll agree that to compare two styles u sud hav equal knowledge of both..

as far as history is concerned, i know karate developed in okinawa islands during trade with China. and when okinawa was attacked by samurais of japan, karate was banned by them. when samurai period ended okinawans adopted japanese language to mix with japan. then karate was introduced to japan. the karate gi was adopted from japanese judo which was developed from jiu-jitsu used by samurais..and theres much more..

boss, i myself train in shito-ryu karate..im not commenting on comparing battlefield techs of both styles..i just said id like to watch a match of sports MT vs. sports karate/tkd..(not a common rule match).
though im aware that knees and elbows and backfists are taught in karate also, bt bro, they are not used in sports, bt in sports MT..
if all lethal techs of both styles are allowed, that'll rather be a street fight..
then the result will depend upon the individuals not on styles..

I wasnt being arrogant you retarded shit... i was juz asking... i grew up watching Prize fighters train in my Dads Gym here... and they train differently in europe... i lived in your country for 6 years and i saw how kick boxing is going there... very western... not the real thing for Us... and don't tell me there is no real muay thai.. it shows how ignorant you are... western people come here to our country to train... you know why??? because they want to learn the REAL THING...

Japan was in constant war days in early history and form of combat techniques were born and called Karate. Its cause was to kill/assassinate efficiently during the war times. However time has evolved and is left with bare basic techniques. However, you're still trained with some of important techniques but what are the chances you will practice those skills in real life. Very slim. That's why people have misconceptions now days. History and technique wise, it's definitely deeper than Muay Thai.

K-1 itself is based on Muay Thai skills and closest martial art it can relate to is Muay Thai and it's a fact. Of course, Muay Thai offers more techniques if K-1 allows, but K-1 is K-1. I see many people whining and whining about the rules how it should be more like Muay Thai. However the fact is let K-1 be K-1. I for one don't want to see Muay Thai matches in K-1. If I wanted, I'd probably go watch Muay Thai Tourneys, not K-1.

The techniques I talke about are actually part of Karate. Karate isn't a sport btw. Sparring may be called in such way now days but its concept is far from it. If you study deeper into Karate or TKD, you will find out some great history and techniques. It's just that current decade doesn't really require for people to learn hardcore techniques but for the purpose of excercise. With all due respect, I'm simply saying it's ignorant to say Muay Thai is a better made for fighting/combat purpose.
