See EM repulsion lifts a neodymium magnet above two spinning copper pipes. Also see I bought my supermagnets from Mr. George "magnetman," also from wondermagnet.com. The pipes are thick-wall schedule-80 copper pipes from the scrap bin at Alaskan Copper and Brass. The motor is a replacement sewing machine motor from Grainger catalog. Speed control is a 1000-watt triac lamp dimmer.

It would be an expensive "vanity patent" since there's no money in it. It's just a science fair project.

But someone did discover the same effect years later, and patented it. Their version used two thick aluminum disks mounted on two separate motors.

Copper doesn't repel magnets.

MOVING copper can create a field equal to the field from a supermagnet. "Image" effect where the moving copper acts like a mirror for magnets, and there is a distorted 3D image of the supermagnet down inside the copper.
